Terms of Service

EventWrangler is operated by Kijani Consulting LLC, doing business as Green Buoy, of 3710 Shannon Road #51422, Durham, NC 27717. In this document, "we" and "us" mean Kijani Consulting LLC.

These terms cover your use of EventWrangler. By using it, you're agreeing to them.

What EventWrangler is

A tool for planning volunteer events and collecting sign-ups. You describe an event, we suggest quantities, costs and sign-up slots, and you share a link so people can claim what they'll bring.

Who can use it

You need to be 18 or older to create an event. Anyone can claim a sign-up slot.

The most important thing in these terms

The plans we generate are estimates, and you are responsible for what you actually do.

Our quantity suggestions come from general rules of thumb. Our cost figures are guesses that don't know what anything costs in your town this month. They are a starting point for your judgment, not a substitute for it.

You remain responsible for:

• Food safety and allergies. We don't know your school's nut policy, whether the warming trays showed up, or who at your event is coeliac. Anything we suggest about food is a suggestion. Check it.
• What you buy and what it costs. Confirm prices with your vendor. Our estimate is not a quote.
• Your organization's rules. Budget approvals, purchasing policies, whether outside food is allowed at all.
• Whether the plan is any good. Read it before you publish it to a hundred people.

Nothing we generate is professional advice of any kind.

Your account and your events

Keep your login to yourself; you're responsible for what happens under it. Tell us promptly if you think someone else has it.

You own what you put in. You keep every right you have in your event descriptions, notes and lists. You give us permission to store and process that content so the service can work — to generate plans, show sign-up sheets to the people you share them with, and send the emails the service sends.

You also let us use what we learn from corrected quantities — in aggregated form, with names removed — to improve our estimates. If that isn't acceptable, don't use the service.

Other people's information

When you collect sign-ups, you're collecting names and email addresses from people in your community. Use them for the event and nothing else. Don't export the list for a mailing list, a fundraiser, or any other purpose those people didn't sign up for. Doing that is a breach of these terms and we may close your account for it.

What you may not do

• Use it for anything illegal, deceptive, or harassing
• Impersonate someone else, or set up an event in an organization's name without authority
• Send unsolicited commercial email through the service
• Upload anything malicious, or try to break, overload, scrape, or reverse-engineer the service
• Resell it or pass it off as your own

We're not affiliated with your school

EventWrangler is an independent product. We aren't affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting on behalf of any school, district, PTA, church or other organization whose events are planned with it.

Availability

We'll try to keep it running and we make no promise about it. It may be down, slow, or changed. Features may be added or removed. We may suspend or end the service, and if we do, we'll give reasonable notice and a way to get your data out.

We may close an account that breaks these terms. You can stop using the service and ask us to delete your data whenever you like.

Fees

Any paid plan will have its price and billing terms stated at the point you sign up. Free features may change or end.

No warranty

The service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We don't warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that its estimates will be accurate.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, or costs of substitute services — including anything arising from a plan, an estimate, a quantity, a cost figure, an email that didn't arrive, or an event that didn't go as planned.

Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or fifty US dollars.

Some jurisdictions don't allow these limits, in which case they apply as far as the law permits.

Indemnity

You'll cover us against claims arising from your use of the service, your content, your events, and your handling of other people's information — excluding anything caused by us.

Changes

We may update these terms. We'll change the date at the top, and for significant changes we'll say so directly. Continuing to use the service after that means accepting the new terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Disputes go to the state or federal courts located in North Carolina.
